Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 28, 2026

NextSession ("NextSession," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform. Please read this policy carefully. By using NextSession, you agree to the practices described here.

Who We Are

NextSession is a peer-to-peer platform exclusively for licensed mental health professionals. Our platform allows clinicians to share clinical tips, interventions, and resources with their colleagues. We take the privacy of our users seriously and design our data practices accordingly.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

How Your Information Is Stored

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

NextSession is currently in early access. We are a small team and handle your data with care. We do not maintain on-site servers; all data is stored by our third-party infrastructure providers under their respective privacy and security commitments.

Information Visible to Other Users

The following information is visible to other verified NextSession users: your name, profile photo, license type, specialties, years of experience, location (if provided), the clinical tips and content you post, your comments, and your follower/following counts. Your email address is never displayed publicly on the platform.

A partial preview of tip content (the first few sentences) may be visible to the general public and to search engines to help NextSession be discoverable. These previews are displayed anonymously — your name, profile, photo, and identity are never shown to non-authenticated users. Tip previews are attributed only to "a verified licensed mental health professional on NextSession." When tip links are shared on social media, the tip title may appear as part of an automatically generated preview image. No author name, photo, license, or identifying information is ever included in these images.

Cookies and Session Data

NextSession uses cookies and similar session technologies to keep you logged in and maintain your session as you use the platform. These are functional cookies necessary for the platform to operate. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or using certain features of the platform.

Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

Third-Party Services

NextSession uses Google OAuth for authentication. When you sign in with Google, you are subject to Google's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We encourage you to review Google's privacy practices. NextSession also uses Anthropic's Claude API to power the optional Ask Elephant AI feature. Prompts submitted to this feature are processed by Anthropic under their privacy policy; we encourage you to review Anthropic's privacy practices at anthropic.com. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

AI Features

NextSession offers an optional AI-assisted feature called Ask Elephant, powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you use this feature, the prompts you submit are sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. We do not use your prompts or AI-generated content to train AI models. AI-generated tips are always posted under your name and profile — you are the author of record for any content you choose to publish. Use of the AI feature is entirely optional and can be disabled in your account settings at any time.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it for legal, compliance, or legitimate business purposes.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

Children's Privacy

NextSession is intended solely for licensed mental health professionals and supervised trainees, all of whom must be adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

Security

We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data and are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from factors outside our reasonable control.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of NextSession after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the platform.

California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at team@nextsession.com.
